Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR therapy focuses on the natural ability of the brain to heal itself from traumatic memories. During EMDR therapy, the client attends to emotionally disturbing material in brief sequential doses while simultaneously focusing on an external stimulus. This helps to create new neural pathways in the brain that allow the client to process the traumatic memory in a healthier way.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Our cognitive behavioral therapy approach is designed to help individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to their mental health struggles. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, we can help you develop more positive and effective coping strategies to manage your emotions.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

(DBT) is a multimodal therapy that can help you learn how to manage your intense emotions, improve your relationships, and live a more fulfilling life. Imagine a world where you can dance with your emotions, rather than being controlled by them. A world where understanding two seemingly opposite ideas can be true at once. (DBT) focuses on acceptance and change by learning four main skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation.

Play Therapy

This uses play to help children express their emotions, process their experiences, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. It is based on the belief that play is a child's natural language and that by playing, children can communicate their thoughts and feelings in a way that is comfortable and safe for them.

Sand Tray Therapy

This is a hands-on technique that utilizes sand, water, and miniature toys to create a safe and explorative environment for individuals with substantial trauma. It provides the opportunity to create a story and for the unconscious thoughts and feelings to manifest in an imaginary world; when otherwise, it might be too difficult to express. It can be verbal or non-verbal and directive (therapist leads) or indirective (client leads) and it can be used with children and adults.  Sand tray therapy allows the exploration of painful memories within a protected space.
